Hi.  My name is Jo. My Meditation classes are created to help people deal with the everyday stresses of life, to not be distracted by the thousands of thoughts going through our minds and to live and enjoy the here and now, whatever that looks like .  A regular Meditation practise can help  to reduce stress, improve sleep, increase wellbeing and give you clarity and focus, as well as many other benefits.  We can not always change what happens to us in life, but we can change the way we experience it and deal with it.  My classes take place in Sheffield but I also offer one to one and skype sessions for those unable to travel.  Please click on the button below to find out more.

How Meditation Can Help You

I qualified as a Meditation Teacher because I love everything about Meditation and wanted to share it.    But not everyone views Meditation the same way.  I quickly found that some people were put off by the overtly spiritual element of some practitioners;  instead they are simply  interested in relaxing and learning techniques to deal with everyday stresses of life, work and relationships.   This is how A Modern Way to Meditate came to life. There is no limit to where and how Meditation can be carried out; group and one to one sessions, nutritional workshops, retreats and schools. I have carried out Meditations for competing sportspeople, the elderly in care homes and for anxious pregnant ladies! The only thing that limits us is our mind!

We have 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day. That's a lot of head traffic, a lot of thinking and a lot of reacting or in most cases over reacting; no wonder we are all exhausted.  With regular meditation we learn how to manage the everyday thoughts that often leave us feeling stressed and anxious.  Dealing with what life throws at us from a position of calm enables us to focus on what is really important in life.
