Hi. my name is Jo. I am lucky enough to absolutely love what I do and have had great success in helping clients deal with many of life's stresses; lifelong anxiety, emotions, change, and finding true happiness, to name a few. Meditation and Mindfulness classes are created to help people deal with the everyday stresses of life, to not be distracted by the thousands of thoughts going through our minds and to live and enjoy the here and now. A regular practise can help to reduce stress, improve sleep, increase wellbeing and give you clarity and focus, as well as many other benefits. We can not always change what happens to us in life, but we can change the way we experience it and deal with it. My classes take place in Sheffield but I also offer one to one Zoom sessions. I qualified as a Meditation and Mindfulness Coach
because I love everything about what I do nd wanted to share it. But not everyone views this practice the same way. I quickly found that some people were put off by the overtly spiritual element of some practitioners; instead they are simply interested in relaxing and learning techniques to deal with everyday stresses of life, work and relationships. This is how A Modern Way to Meditate came to life. There is no limit to where and how Meditation and Mindfulness can be carried out; group and one to one sessions, nutritional workshops, retreats and schools. I have carried out sessions for competing sportspeople, the elderly in care homes and for anxious pregnant ladies! The only thing that limits us is our mind!!
We have 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day. That's a lot of head traffic, a lot of thinking and a lot of reacting or in most cases over reacting; no wonder we are all exhausted. With regular meditation we learn how to manage the everyday thoughts that often leave us feeling stressed and anxious. Dealing with what life throws at us from a position of calm enables us to focus on what is really important in life.
Meditation & Mindfulness one to one coaching for stress, anxiety personal, or just everyday relaxation. Group or individual sessions available. Read my reviews from happy clients.

In light of the current times and working at home practices I have collaborated with R1se Yoga and we have developed a very successful programme that assists employers with the Health and Wellbeing of staff which is proving not only beneficial for those employees but also for employers alike by helping reduce staff absenteeism.
The programme includes:
Healthy Habits for Working from Home:
· One of the biggest issues that working from home can bring is inactivity.
· Excessive sitting can affect our metabolism, increase blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol and lead to weight gain.
· Remaining in one position for hours at a time can also affect the muscles in our back, neck, hip flexors, hamstrings and calves.
· We can help employees
o Convert their workspace
o Stay motivated
o Provide advice on healthy eating and nutrition
o Get that all-important fix of nature.
o With 15-minute Yoga and Pilates sessions from easy to advanced level.
Meditation & Mindfulness Sessions:
· A modern approach which dispels all the myths that people may have around this practice.
· Learn about the amazing benefits of meditation and mindfulness, and how developing a regular practice in as little as 5 minutes a day can have a big impact on their mental health and wellbeing.
· Provide weekly sessions to include:
o Dealing with stress
o Developing & maintaining a positive mindset
o Reducing and keeping anxiety at bay.
o Dealing with change
o Improving sleep.
o Simple tools and easy techniques that can be used daily to increase wellbeing and aid focus and work productivity in their current environment.
Desk Break Sessions:
Ten-minute movement sessions assist with spinal alignment and posture and alleviate the pain often associated with working at home.
The above could assist employers addressing their wellbeing obligations and help employees deal with the demands they are experiencing due to the change in their working environment. This would not only give staff all the tools that they need to improve their mental health and general wellbeing, but it should help to reduce time lost from work due to sickness, which in turn would maintain productivity and keep staff focused and motivated.
Employees would have access to all of the above via a professional and easy to use online system which could be accessed at their convenience at any time.
We are very flexible and as with all our clients we deliver a bespoke and professional service.

"I recently had the pleasure of a meditation with Jo.
The music used was very relaxing and the essential oil lamp vapourised the room with aromas which helped soften your thoughts and worries. Jo spoke with a clear, soft and flowing tone which sent me into a calm state.
When the session was finished, I felt completely refreshed, relaxed and at peace."

"Having a tailor-made program with Jo over the last 6 months and touching base once a week with her has changed my life. Changed for the better in how I deal with people and more importantly myself. I think clearer and more positively because in looking after me properly everyone gets a better version of me. It’s good to stop, slow down reflect have a chat, and then use all the tools to be HAPPY.”Christopher, Birmingham I can already feel the meditation having a positive effect on my life, even just the smallest things. I don’t think that I would have started ‘self-care’ without starting your meditation and I agree – you can’t be the best you can for your partner, your child or at work if you are pouring from a cup half full.Really excited to continue this journey! Thank you so much. Liz. G. Enlisted Jo for myself and my team and results are fantastic with them knowing I am investing the best therapy in calming and working on their biggest asset, their head. Jo is always curious and wants to solve issues and calm the team, which in turn helps them immensely through stressful times. Excellent Jo keep up the bespoke and one page plans for all of my team . "I had a pregnancy meditation session with Jo at 38Weeks pregnant and it was such a relaxing and calming experience for both myself and even for my unborn baby (she was wriggling loads before the session and seemed to calm down with me during the meditation). I was completely new to meditation and honestly was a little skeptical about it at first, but Jo put me at ease straight away and I found that her professionalism, along with a beautiful calming environment that she had created with mood lighting, beautiful aromas, tranquil music and candles really helped me relax and get the most out of it. After the session I felt calm and content and also felt that I had learned how to switch off and Jo taught me how I could use some of the techniques she used to help with sleep (as I have struggled with this throughout pregnancy) and how to try and make time to relax for myself even just for 10/20mins of the day. My only regret is I didn't do it sooner."

I have just taken part in your meditation, it was wonderful and exactly what I needed during these current difficult times!!
I scribbled down some of your hints and tips straight after while they were fresh. And thank you for reminding me of my survival kit/technique that I used when recovering from my aneurysm. I’m going to take action and start implementing those learnings again to help during these current times.
I cried, I smiled and now I’m feeling wonderfully relaxed and positive!
So I just wanted to say thank you!

"I was introduced to Jo in April 2020. Her wisdom and warm caring nature has helped me navigate through a difficult year against the backdrop of world events. With the tools and techniques Jo has shared with me I have been able to achieve my biggest professional achievement to date alongside the most important, the pursuit of happiness. I have enjoyed every second of our sessions and look forward to many more for years to come"Jack"Jo really helped me with my anxiety that was causing me to lose sleep and therefore making my anxiety worse.Jo went through some specially selected meditation sessions that covered sleep and relaxation and how i could incorporate these into my daily routine. She helped me put together a sleep plan that provided me a routine for going to bed, meditating and then sleeping. After only a few weeks i was sleeping much much better and continue to follow her sleep pattern even now i am sleeping much better. This ensures i do not slip back.Jo delivered her sessions in a calm manner and provided me with all the tools i need to manage my thought process when i became anxious so i am able to continue my day without it being enveloped with anxiety.Thank you Jo"Stuart Jenkinson

"I used to feel so stressed going out competing but Jo has helped me change my attitude and mind set so I can now ride my horse in public the same way as I do at home. We’re improving and learning from each outing, but most importantly I’m really enjoying my time with my horse.
I thoroughly recommend training your mind as well as your body and horse!”

n with my partner, we had an interesting chat about how we always take the positives in our lives - and relationship - for granted.Something I noticed today that is a new ‘dynamic’ I feel we are working on is that I got up with our son at 5.30am, and when the time came to get ready in the morning, I let my partner have a relaxing bath whilst I sorted him out. In the past, we would have bickered over the fact that I got up and thus I deserve the relaxing bath. In fact, it felt great for me to do the morning routine and let her ease into the morning. I got far more back than the ‘point scoring’ we so often do without realising. Thanks for all your help so far and I’m excited where this journey will take our little family! Sam.P.
"Having just completed a 10 month period of Therapy to treat Stress and anxiety, I decided to try my hand at Meditation.
From the moment the class began, Jo’s calm and soothing voice, helped to instil a warm and tranquil feeling to my very soul.
The class was an absolute joy and focused on clearing the mind from the clutter that we seem to be bombarded with on a daily basis as well as many self-care techniques that I have personally struggled to put into practice in the past.
I left the class that evening with a feeling of calmness, self awareness and positivity and also the knowledge that I could face whatever challenges may lay ahead over the following week. I got more from Jo's 45 minute class than I did from 10 months of Therapy.
I would highly recommend Jo."

"Jo has worked at Hallam Primary School this year and had a positive impact on the well-being and positive mindfulness of our children. Initially, she worked with all the Y6 cohorts in the build up to the end of Key stager assessments and then worked with some of our more vulnerable pupils. The sessions focussed on finding strategies to reduce anxiety and stress and support the children manage their own emotions and self-regulation. I am very grateful to Jo for her support and would definitely recommend Jo to other professionals"
